First attempt of HDR

Ok, here is my first attempt to create an HDR image.  It looks kind of fake, maybe a painting.  I think it looks kind of cool.  

If you don't know the process I will explain it.  I take 3 shots of the same scene.  Each picture is a different exposure.  The software blends them all together.  Then I can change settings to make it look the best.  It's a simple explaination, but that is about it.  Very Cool looking picture.

Cody Makes the Funniest Faces

I wonder where he got this from...making faces?  I wonder if I made crazy faces like this what I was a kid?  

Cody is my favorite person to take pictures of.  He is so photogenic.  He is really getting sick of me taking his picture, but he will get used to it.  

My First Picture

This was my first 'real' picture that started it all.  I took this before I even knew what I was doing..not that I know better now..LOL!  Look at the blue sky and a pretty decent bokah.  I did do a little photoship...I did make the sky a little more blue and there was a piece of grass running accross Cody's arm....and I took that out.

Like I said, this started it all and that spark grew to a huge flame.  I love to take pictues of people...making them smile, seeing them have a good time.

Why DutchNine?

I have been asked SEVERAL times why DutchNine....it's sort of an easy one. Most of you know that my name is Dutch...how can you miss that with Van de Wetering, right? To add a little twist one of my favorite movies 'Preditor' Arnold's charactors name is Dutch. Then comes the Nine....if any of you are athletes the jersey number is a BIG deal. Such a big deal some pro athletes pay BIG bucks to get their numbers if someone else already has it. So you guessed it...Nine was my number pretty much my whole athletic career. So there you go...there is where DutchNine was born!!

Building a Business...starting with a website.

Ok DutchNine Photography is now official. My site is up and running: www.dutchninephoto.com. I had my first real experience with HTML, CSS, and blogging. This is my first 'official' blog and I am going to tell you right now I am going to have a hard time with this. Keeping this updated will be tough. I will do my best!!!

I will have to give out some kudos...www.smugmug.com is AWESOME! That service is 2nd to NONE! It's is worth every penny and I recommend it to any photographer or anyone who wants to store their photos and display them online.

I also used godaddy.com to purchase my domain names. My first domain was purchased at Hostgator. I will have to say I like hostgator a little better, but the prices are higher. You have to be really carefull you could really spend a TON of money if you are not carefull.
